F. When there is a long adverbial in the dependent clause, suffix –le了 should be used in the main clause

 

Wǒ gēn Xiǎo Lǐ zài Shànghǎi lǚxíng de shíhou yǐjīng gěi tā dǎ-le diànhuà.  

我跟小李在上海旅行的时候已经给他打了电话。

I already called him when Young Li and I were traveling in Shanghai.
